Embracing Change

I have been thinking about the process of change and living in the reality of it. I feel as though I have taken a few steps toward it and accelerated a few hundred more.

The definition of change reads “to make different in some particular,” and here is another favorite “to give a different position, course, or direction to.” (Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary).

There are times in our lives that we try to manage change. We can sense it and feel it, but we are not quite sure what it will look like when it is upon us. Over the past couple of years, I started out writing a Facebook page to give myself the courage to put myself out there. It then blossomed into this blog. Over the past few months, I have felt more change was coming.

All the things I have done were stepping-stones to prepare me for the next step.  They gave me a chance to get comfortable with allowing what I write to be seen consistently. It also gave me the opportunity to try on something new, and finally, it has led me to focus on finishing a book.

The process of change can be confusing, frustrating, and yes, sometimes even enjoyable. The one thing that we all have in common is that we have a choice how we approach it. If our approach is to run from it, we will spend the rest of our lives running and never accomplish anything. However, if we embrace change as a necessary part of life that we can grow from, we are at least ten steps ahead of where we started.

In the attitude of embracing change, I am going to shut down the Linda Wilson Writing blog for now and focus on what is ahead of me. I have had a book in the works for a while and need to focus on finishing it. If you are interested in becoming part of the mailing list to be notified when the book comes out or any other projects I publish, click on the link below to provide your email address. I will keep you posted.
